seeing it pay off
Today we shot on the stage and it was so nice directing and seeing all of my teams work come together in a rough form. We had a lot of fun and I learned more shooting today than in whole classes I’ve had. Being able to ask the techs questions helped tremendously.
Because I had visited team Byte during their shoot, we had ~200fps more than them to play around with because of optimization, which I am really proud of. My level files for both scenes were only 2GB total!
There is plenty of things I would have done differently, such as lighting and timing, but overall, I am happy. Seeing my cinematography work come together with my focus moves, camera moves, and shot composition was really fun.
Things to Change
SHOT 01A the lighting doesn’t match, and these rocks are too saturated for the background, or the light on the set is too cool. Rocks could have slightly more contrast in details
SHOT 01B the floor is almost bright blue!
SHOT 04 I can stabilize the X movement for the wiggle we got with the camera move.
TIMING! all of it lol. Needs to be adjust especially between actor walking cut section to make movements more smooth.
